چکیده
Our main, novel, result is that a certain non-central chi-squared mixture of distributions itself scaled distribution. From this and link to known on representation for central distribution, numerous further results, both old new, ensue. These include results F, F Libby–Novick distributions. The main involves all with the same degrees freedom; it also extended case where mixing distribution has freedom an even number larger than conditional consequences pursued.

Noncentral Composite Designs
Second-order designs are constructed by adding a second two-level design to an initial 2 or 2 experiment. I label such designs as noncentral composite designs, since they are composed of two designs with different centers. The location of the second block can be determined following analysis of the initial experiment. Noncentral composite designs provide an attractive alternative to the popular...
متن کاملComputing discrete mixtures of continuous distributions: noncentral chisquare, noncentral t
In this article, we address the problem of computing the distribution functions that can be expressed as discrete mixtures of continuous distributions. Examples include noncentral chisquare, noncentral beta, noncentral F , noncentral t, and the distribution of squared sample multiple correlation. We illustrate the need for improved algorithms by pointing out situations where existing algorithms...
متن کاملApplications of the Noncentral t–Distribution
The noncentral t–distribution is intimately tied to statistical inference procedures for samples from normal populations. For simple random samples from a normal population the usage of the noncentral t–distribution includes basic power calculations, variables acceptance sampling plans (MIL– STD–414) and confidence bounds for percentiles, tail probabilities, statistical process control paramete...
متن کاملNoncentral hypergeometric distribution
Two different probability distributions are both known in the literature as "the" noncentral hypergeometric distribution. The nomenclature problems are discussed. Wallenius' noncentral hypergeometric distribution can be described as an urn model with bias. Fisher's noncentral hypergeometric distribution is the conditional distribution of independent binomial variates given their sum. Several di...
متن کاملSolvable Noncentral Potentials
Using the ideas of supersymmetry and shape invariance we show that the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of a wide class of noncentral potentials can be obtained in a closed form by the operator method. This generalization considerably extends the list of exactly solvable potentials for which the solution can be obtained algebraically in a simple and elegant manner. As an illustration, we discuss ...
